Why DisputeChat is different from traditional services
DisputeChat is educational software — not a CRO. Understanding the difference matters for your protection as a consumer.
Educational software, not a CRO
Under CROA (15 U.S.C. §1679), CROs are companies that represent they can improve your credit in exchange for payment. DisputeChat does not fit this definition because:
- DisputeChat does not send disputes on your behalf
- DisputeChat does not guarantee any credit improvement
- DisputeChat does not charge per-dispute or success-based fees
- You review, approve, and mail every dispute letter yourself
- All score projections are clearly labeled as simulated estimates for planning purposes
No telemarketing
DisputeChat does not use outbound telemarketing, robocalls, or unsolicited phone sales.
FCRA educational content
DisputeChat's educational materials help consumers understand their rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including the right to dispute inaccurate information, the 30-day investigation window, and the Method of Verification process.
